Programs

The Friends organizes a variety of programs throughout the year to share Westport Island history and showcase its rich collection of pictures, records and artifacts that document times past.

Each summer, the Friends hosts a signature event which spotlights an historic property on site and presents its history with a lecture, a mini-exhibit, and a property tour. At the History Center, annual exhibits detail the history of properties spotlighted in the summer fundraising event.  The Center also holds a small permanent exhibit on the Ferry Landing and Westport Ferry so crucial to island life and commerce for many decades.

Visitors to the History Center are also welcome to view books, documents, photos and a computer database to research Westport history and family genealogy.
